BBC Radio 4 Appeal

We’re thrilled to have an appeal on BBC Radio 4 on Sunday, 14 January at 07:54. The appeal will be made by broadcaster Mark Durden-Smith – a trustee of the charity and close friend of Charlie’s. We are extremely grateful to Mark, who very kindly gave up his time to record the appeal in December at BBC Broadcasting House.

The appeal will be repeated on Sunday, 14 January at 21:25 and on Thursday, 18 January at 15:27, and will be available at bbc.co.uk from Sunday, 14 January.

It [Charlie Waller Trust] is a charity that helps young people with their mental health; it gives them the tools and the knowledge and the understanding of how to deal with their mental health when bumpy moments happen in life, as they inevitably do.

Helping thousands in Charlie’s name

When Charlie Waller took his own life aged 28, his family set up the Charlie Waller Trust to try and prevent others going through the pain they had to endure. Now, 26 years on, we help thousands of young people take care of their mental health.

Mental health skills for life

We support young people’s mental health from primary school right through to starting work. We’re there every step of the way. Our podcast provides vital knowledge and skills to help them when life feels hard to manage – skills that last a lifetime.

Helping parents support children

Parents whose children are struggling are usually desperate to help. Our resources and workshops are a lifeline for parents and carers, helping them feel less alone and offering practical tools for supporting their children.
